A 28 year old patient has just broken our record in labour induction with acupuncture!
At 39 weeks and two days into her pregnancy term, this young lady was booked for a medical induction at the maternity ward due to a significant increase in blood pressure towards the end of pregnancy. The medical induction, which the patient was trying to avoid, was planned within the following 24 hours, subject to availability of the medical team. The patient, therefore, was very eager to induce the labour as swiftly and naturally as possible and requested a special acupuncture treatment for it. A 25 minutes treatment, combining auricular and body points, was given at 14:30. My previous record with acupuncture labour induction was about three hours between the treatment and the beginning of contractions. This time, however, the contractions began much sooner, about 30 minutes after the acupuncture treatment, and a healthy baby boy was born at 5 o’clock the following morning.

À 39 semaines et deux jours de grossesse, cette jeune femme devait être déclenchée médicalement à la maternité à cause d’une hausse importante de sa tension artérielle en fin de grossesse. Ne voulant pas d’une induction médicale, prévue dans les 24 heures selon la disponibilité de l’équipe, elle était très motivée pour essayer une méthode plus naturelle et rapide. Elle a donc demandé un traitement spécial d’acupuncture à cet effet.
Une séance de 25 minutes, combinant des points auriculaires et corporels, a été réalisée à 14h30. Jusqu’à présent, le meilleur délai entre un traitement et le début des contractions était d’environ trois heures. Cette fois, les choses sont allées encore plus vite : les contractions ont commencées 30 minutes après la séance. Un petit garçon en pleine santé est né à 5 heures du matin le lendemain.
